Ne-Yo for example is an excellent song writer and performer. From the first listen of 'So Sick', Ne-Yo have graced ears with songs of truth, love, thoughts, and sincerity.
His latest single, Mad, is one of his greatest.... in my opinion. Take a peek below..
I first seen, and even heard the song for that matter, last night. I was passing through the living room and the TV was tuned to BET. 106 and Park was on and NeYo's video, Mad, was number 5. I had no choice but to stand there and listen.. The words...
I don't want to go to bed, mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me
no, I don't want to go to bed mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me
...stuck out. It made my mind go back to the times when me and my then boyfriend [now fiance'....YAY!!!] used to argue about nonsense. Many times, we went to bed mad at each other.
Just from watching that video last night, I thought the video was about a couple fighting, then one deciding that the love is too strong so tried to fight to work it out. It wasn't until this morning that I seen the whole video on YouTube... [BET have a BIG problem with cutting videos short]...
As soon as I made it into my office, I quickly replied to a few emails, checked my voicemail then searched for Ne-Yo's video. Finding this video was way easier than finding Beyonce's Halo video when it first came out.. [It seemed as if every site removed the video because of copyright issues, but low and behold one site... which I forgot the name of.... still had the video up... Loved the video.. But back to the point]
After watching the whole video I realized that it was not just about a fighting couple and their make-up... It was about realism.. It was about the truth that.... Tomorrow is not promised..
At the beginning of the video, after the argument, Ne-Yo walked out the apartment mad and witnessed a little boy getting hit by the car. At that moment it appeared that Ne-Yo realized that life is too short so he went back into the apartment to try to work it out.. But the twist came at the end when it came to light that Ne-Yo in fact was the one hit by the car.
So many times in the past me and my boyfriend let an argument simmer until the next day. But the next day is not promised.. The next minute is not promise.
At time of departure, that memory becomes a lasting memory.
