October 3rd

Well last night was very exciting... [well as exciting as things can get in Missouri]

I sat back and watched a movie and popped some popcorn. ... I know, I know, it may not be that whoop-de-doo, but it is a big step up from my usual nights after work.

I watched Troy. I must say that I was greatly impressed. At first glance, the sound of Troy is a dead reminder of the truama that I went through in American History and English IV during high school. I must of had to read over a million stories that concerned Hercules, Helen of Troy.... the Odyssey. Let's just say that when I graduated, I left all notions of the epics behind. [It was not my most interesting topic] But the movie was really good.

Don't let the beginning words fool you. The movie started with written dialog on the screen... [It pretty much reminded me of the movies that we had to watch along with the stories in English IV] but that was short lasted. The movie was filled with a whole lot of action. I had to turn my head a few times cause the directors ain't left nothing for imagination. They showed the swords being stabbed in the chest, they showed the blood, they showed it all. But one thing that should be noted is that ARCHILLES is the man. He was a beast. Don't step to Archilles and try to fight cause he will merk you. He lived by his own laws and they had no other option but to let him be him and follow. He had strength, power, pretty much everything that a girl would want. And of course it helped that Brad Pitt played him. [That man sure knows how to full some armor...lol]

I shed tears..... I laughed..... I definitely LOVED Troy.

Then I had to catch Sunday Best on BET. It is similar to American Idol except they are looking for the next gospel star. Me personally think that a good gospel singer is the best singers to listen too. They sing with such emotion and they make you feel what they are feeling.... I just love them.

There were a couple of singers that blew the roof off the building. I don't know them by name, but they did their thing. Last night was just the auditions so they showed the cans and the cannots. Honestly I was a lil dissappointed with the turn out. There were some good singers but there were a lot more so-so, borderline bad, singers. Anywho... They picked 20 people. 18 by qualification, 1 by online viewers choice, and 1 by judges pick. The judges tripped me out. Mary Mary, specifically Erica, is a fool. She kept it real. Some of those people left you speechless, so she basically just passed it to Bebe. Bebe, he let you know if your outfit wasn't on point. Oooh... It is hosted by Kirk Franklin and he is a fool. He would introduce the people.... 'there goes Steve and his blue suit'.... I was rolling.. But some peeps was down bad for their outfit choice. You are suppose to wear your Sunday Best people.... NOT straight-off-the-rack-just-going-to-throw-something-on. Some people came with their prom dresses, their right-out-the-club outfits, candy apple red suits, bright-azz blue suits, ..... It was a hot mess.

Because I am a big fan of gospel music ........ I will definitely tune next Tuesday.

Well, last night was definitely better than Monday night. It seems like this birthday month is starting to look up. I wonder what tonight will bring?????
