I have been hearing and reading a lot of things regarding the President's planned speech for Sept 8th. Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is.
If I understand correctly, the President is simply telling children to stay in school, work hard, and be successful. Many educators have a problem because a lesson plan is also included. The lesson plan asks students to think about what the President is saying and to figure out what the President is asking them to do.
Many parents are outrage because the President is telling their children what to do. They actually have a problem with the President telling their children to do good in school..
I am big on education. In fact, my son is only 7 weeks old and I have already started researching schools in the area, but that is another blog. I want my child to do good.
Children relate to those that they idolize. If a child loves the President, then of course, they would want to do what the President says. True, parents must watch what is told to their children but really people....why complain if the President is trying to help the future.
I, for one, believe that an education help makes a person successful. A person chances of getting a good job is greater with a degree. So, if children are told at a young age to do good then they will be motivated to excel in grade school, apply for scholarships, thus attend college thus opening job opportunities..
Personally, I feel that people are outrage just to stick it to the President. Many still dislike him, so, of course, they will go against him.
It is just a shame that people are willing to sabotage their children just to spite the President.
