Presidental Power

Yesterday during Obama's speech for health care reform, a Republican shouted out 'You lie'.

Me, being 26, have heard a lot of lies from Presidents, but I never heard anyone call them on it and yesterday I seen why.

Everyone is hounding Joe Wilson just because he voiced his opinion. There is even talk about him loosing his House seat.

My question is 'What is the freaking big deal?'

So what a man told Obama he lied. Obama is only human. They are treating Obama like he is God. A man thought Obama lied and now that man may lose his job. People act like you must treat the President holier than thou. Obama is just a man so no one should have to bite their tongue just to give Obama the false impression that he have power.

Sure, Obama can say when, where, why, and how much but the man does not have power.. If he would walk up to me acting crazy, I would tell him the same thing I told my husband when he started to act froggy 'What the hell do you want?'. Given, Obama would not play tackle me on sofa and start tickling every bit of laugh out of me, but you get my point. I would treat him no differently than anyone else.

Citizens have been told for years that you must respect people based on their title. A vote does not deem a person respectable. You must earn my respect just like everyone else.

If in a room with Obama and if the moment arises I, too, will scream 'You lie'. True, I may say it with a group of angry Democrats running behind me but that is just a risk I am willing to take..
