With the current state of the economy, a lot of people are turning towards self-employment or work from home businesses.
So basically, Mary Kay is looking really good to some people. I 'sell' Mary Kay. I use the word 'sell' loosely because I am my only customer.
I have been an Independent Beauty Consultant since 2005. When I first started, I tried to sell to other people. I mentioned the new career to all I knew, sent hundreds of emails, made thousands of phone calls, and even advertised online. However, I had no success..
Mary Kay is another pyramid scheme.
Don't get me wrong. There are ladies who are generating a good income from Mary Kay alone. The key to Mary Kay is recruitment. The more people who work under you, the more money you make.
There are many different levels in the company. Every person on top gets a percentage of a person's below sales. So ladies high in the Mary Kay chain are bringing in a pretty penny.
The problem arises for Independent Beauty Consultants. As of today, there are millions of ladies in the business. And as time passes, more ladies are being recruited.
To sell Mary Kay, you need people to sell to. There are only so many people in the world who are willing to buy Mary Kay. Of those people, 5 different consultants are trying to sell to them which makes it impossible for every consultant to generate a decent income.
I am all for Mary Kay. I LOVE their products. In fact, I use their Time Wise 3 n 1 cleanser and my face is flawless. I get comments on my skin on the regular. It looks as if I am wearing make-up but my face is completely natural.
So I give Mary Kay their props. Unfortunately, I am my only customer cause after a while 'Oh, I sell Mary Kay, too' gets a lil old...
SIDE NOTE: I am my only customer by choice because I enjoy the 50% discount on Mary Kay products...
